Research Overview

Dr Alam's research focuses on improving outcomes in cataract and vitreoretinal surgery, with particular interest in surgical optimisation, premium intraocular lens selection, and postoperative visual recovery. I also work on evidence-based management of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, myopic choroidal neovascularisation, and retinal biomarkers, integrating advanced imaging to support personalised treatment planning.

He presents regularly at national and international ophthalmology meetings and contributes to peer-reviewed publications in the fields of vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, and diagnostic imaging.
